O’Hare International Airport Terminal 5 Temporary Baggage Handling Facility

Project Overview

A pre-engineered metal building approximately 100-feet wide by 200-feet long. The building will be erected on the existing concrete apron immediate adjacent to the jet way. The concrete apron has been reported to be 14-inches thick, and it is assumed that it will serve as the floor of the proposed facility. Significant utilities infrastructure exists beneath the concrete apron, which will limit options for design and construction of structural footings and anchoring. As the Design-Build contractor, Burling Builders, Inc. will be responsible for the complete design, engineering, permitting, construction, and project management necessary to complete the project outlined in the bid package drawings and specifications.
