Two school construction projects have been issued building permits totalling $479 million.
In the first, a $34.4 million permit has been issued to construct The Belmont Cragin Elementary School at 6112 West Fullerton Ave.
“The existing Riis Park Fieldhouse’s main building will remain except for the 1-story rear gymnasium wing which will be demolished. Interior renovations within the CPD Fieldhouse will also consist of scope for the Fire Alarm System and utility upgrades. A new multi-purpose cafeteria, gymnasium and auditorium wing will be built to serve both the new elementary school, as well as the Chicago Park District programming and events.”
In the second, $13,549,900 permit, Burling Builders, Inc. is the general contractor for two-story annex building addition to Wendell Phillips Academy High School at 244 E. Pershing Rd.
Key subtrades include: Electrical – Public Electric Construction; masonry – Vimak Construction Inc. and George Sollitt Construction Company; plumber/plumbing – Member Mechanical, Inc.; refrigeration – Autumn Construction Services; and ventilation – Any Temperature Co., Inc.
